I’ve spent years foraging for free food in the places I’ve lived, and I’ve come to know exactly where the best trees and juiciest blackberry bushes are. I’d love to share these hidden gems with you—and if you know any great foraging spots yourself, I’d be thrilled to add them too. Foraging is a beautiful way to connect with nature and nourish yourself, but it does come with responsibilities. Always make sure you can confidently identify what you’re picking—if you’re unsure, don’t take the risk. Many plants, especially mushrooms, have lookalikes that can be harmful or even deadly. Be aware of your surroundings, particularly near water, cliffs, or uneven terrain. Some of these locations may cross into private land, so I’ve included details about access and whether permission is needed. I’ve done my best to keep the descriptions clear and thorough—so you can explore safely, respectfully, and with wonder.
